About Us

Founded in 1980, Concerned Friends of Ontario Citizens in Care Facilities is a non-profit corporation and registered charity dedicated to reform of the long-term care system and improvement of quality of life for residents.

The organization is supported by membership and donations without government funding. Its activities are undertaken entirely by volunteers. The Board meets monthly in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Our Goals:

To address the issue of quality physical and emotional care, and the general conditions facing residents of long-term care,

To bring concerns to the attention of the general public and the provincial government and work for constructive changes in statutes and regulations,

To provide information to relatives of residents in long-term care facilities concerning residents' rights and responsibilities under government legislation,

To help families advocate on behalf of their relatives in long-term care facilities.
