For more than a generation Concerned Friends has been a trailblazer, advocating for a quality long-term care system that meets the needs of residents, families and staff.
We know how to make a difference
We are a small organization that have been able to make huge differences to the thousands of people within Ontario’s province-wide long-term care system.
We know how to make a very little go a very long way
We operate on an annual budget under $20,000 and are sustained by charitable donations and membership fees. Each and every new member or donation makes an enormous difference in the work we can do.
We know how to listen and we know how to be heard
Every year we talk to hundred of residents and families who call our helpline with questions or issues with Ontario’s long-term care system. Our participation and leadership on nearly a dozen province-wide committees and government work groups helps us to help each of those callers, members and citizens at large.
Did You Know?
We review and analyze every long-term care home inspection report. The data collected is used to inform our advocacy and our Report Card, a publication that discusses trends in homes’ compliance performance over time.
Concerned Friends of Ontario Citizens in Care Facilities is a non-profit corporation and registered charity dedicated to reform of the long-term care system and improvement of quality of life for residents. The organization is supported by membership and donations without government funding. Its activities are undertaken entirely by volunteers.
